History: | "Transliteration of ""M(ys) Nachalnyy"" meaning ""Point of Entrance,"" the name given to this point by Murashev in 1839 or 1840 and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1806, p. 244) published ""Entrance Point,"" as the translation of Murashev's name. Because of duplication this name was changed to its present form by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1909." |
